ABSTRACT:
The Armed Forces play a vital role in maintaining international relations, drawing lessons from military operations during both wartime and peacetime, and continuously advancing national military development to safeguard core national interests. This paper aims to emphasize the necessity for military leaders at all levels to consistently expand their expertise in military affairs. Security assessments and forecasts by Western experts suggest a high likelihood of armed conflict in the Indo-Pacific region between 2027 and 2030. This projection signals an impending regional crisis, underscoring the urgency for military leadership in our country to enhance their knowledge, capabilities, strategic thinking, and preparedness in anticipation of emerging challenges.
Moreover, the selection and training of military commanders must align with Mongolia’s defense policy. In other words, there is an increasing need to strengthen investments in human resource development in the Armed Forces. Beyond proficiency in conventional combat operations, commanders must also be equipped to engage in peacekeeping missions, coordinate local defense efforts, and manage military operations during crises. Furthermore, they should possess the administrative knowledge to lead local government units effectively. In the era of artificial intelligence, it has become imperative for military leadership to develop the capacity to critically assess and incorporate AI-generated recommendations into their decision-making processes. Such capabilities are now as essential as air.
