This article examines how the strategic interests and geopolitical rivalries of major powers are influencing global security, particularly the defense policies and activities of countries in the Northeast Asia region. The evolving international environment is compelling nations to reassess, reevaluate, and adapt their national security concepts and defense strategies to address emerging challenges. In the future, ensuring national defense and security will require a comprehensive approach that goes beyond military strength – integrating civic participation, scientific and technological advancement, and regional cooperation as essential components of a resilient and sustainable security framework.
